An Update 2020

An Update 2020

2020 was to see us take a year out and tour Europe however things did not turn out as expected.

With the uncertainty of Brexit and what it would mean to our travel plans we decided to take another route and still leave our jobs as intended but seek alternative employment and a complete career change to boot.

March was to be the start of our new careers with the Caravan & Motorhome Club and a prime location at Abbey Wood in London. To say start, is a bit of an exaggeration, as we were almost immediately put on furlough as part of the governments war on the Coronavirus pandemic.

So for now here we sit in isolation like so many others around the country waiting for things to return to normal. We can’t grumble too much as the Abbey Wood site we are confined to is amazing, it is some 9 acres of wood land not far from Woolwich, we are here with two other couples who are like us waiting for the all clear and life to return to the near normal!

The site is a complete surprise as you drive through the suburban roads past houses and shops, only when you arrive at the site entrance are you given a hint of what is to come.

When you drive through the site you struggle to believe you are in London, the site sits a short walk from Abbey Wood village and the newly rebuilt TFL station with frequent trains into the city. The bus links are all around and with various local shops and supermarkets you will want for nothing.

Once the immediate threat of the Coronavirus recedes and life returns to some sort of normality this would make a great location to bring your tent, caravan or motorhome, but book early as this site is often fully booked due in part to it’s superb location and transport links into London city and all of the attractions on offer.
